Clark County — Clark County residents continue to brave the chills by taking the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness and money for the ALS Association. Here are some of the latest challenges:

• Battle Ground Public Schools administrators went big with their challenge this month when a tractor bucket full of water and a 20-pound bag of ice was dumped on their heads. They were honoring CAM Academy Assistant Principal Micah Hilario, who was diagnosed with ALS in October 2010, according to a press release. Hilario’s fundraising page can be found by visiting web.alsa.org.

• Evergreen Public Schools Superintendent John Deeder took the challenge recently while flanked by students on fall sports teams. A video of his message about the devastating disease can be found on the Evergreen Public Schools’ Facebook page.

• Wes and Monique Rice, who run Effective Web Solutions in Washougal, were doused with ice water during their company’s five-year anniversary party on Aug. 28. They matched donations dollar-for-dollar for any money given at the event, eventually bringing in $170 for the ALS Association.
