Arnada — The stone steps at the south end of Arnada Neighborhood Park got a badly needed manicure in August. That’s thanks to the Arnada Garden Group, which took a break from its diligent maintenance of the neighborhood’s community garden at 16th and D streets to spiff up this unique neighbor-built staircase. The staircase was pretty much submerged below out-of-control brush — it was a mess of “hot brambliness” — before the Garden Group took it on, according to the latest Arnada newsletter. Now it’s back to being a welcoming park entryway at the dead end of G Street, just north of 24th. Learn more about the Garden Group at http://gg.gg/arnadagarden.
