SEATTLE — Seattle police say a man taking a dip off the Seattle waterfront delayed the arrival of a ferry.

The Seattle Times reports that the 45-year-old man jumped off Colman Dock and swam out to one of the ferry piers, preventing a ferry from docking on time. The man was arrested on investigation of second-degree malicious mischief.

The man jumped off the dock around 1:30 p.m. Monday. He was “scooped out” by Seattle police.

Seattle Police Department spokesman Drew Fowler told the newspaper that a ferry worker called to report the man had jumped into the water and was “floating near the docks.” The ferry worker also reported the man was “not in distress.”
