A fire damaged a home in Vancouver’s Fircrest neighborhood early Saturday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 12:07 p.m. in the 12200 block of Northeast Ninth Street, according to Vancouver Fire Department Capt. Brian Woods.

Firefighters arriving on scene found fire at the rear of the single-story house. Fire damaged a deck, the kitchen and part of the attic, Woods said.

No injuries were reported. A cat was recovered from the house and appeared to be in good health, Woods said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
