STAYTON, Ore. (AP) — A Marion County sheriff’s spokesman says a missing hunter has been found dead outside of Stayton, Oregon.

Searchers had been looking for 37-year-old Corey Fred.

The cause of death is under investigation.

The sheriff’s office says Fred sent a text early Saturday morning saying he was going hunting on his property, which is next to forest land.
