Ebola lecture planned for WSU Vancouver

Washington State University Vancouver’s Center for Social and Environmental Justice will present a free, public lecture, “Ebola in Africa: Culture, Politics and Ecology,” from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.

The lecture will be presented by Barry Hewlett and Bonnie Hewlett, WSU Vancouver anthropology professors and co-authors of the book “Ebola, Culture and Politics: The Anthropology of an Emerging Disease.” The Hewletts will share their experiences as members of World Health Organization teams that battled Ebola outbreaks and will discuss the current outbreak in West Africa.

Parking is available at meters and in the Blue Daily Pay lot for $3.
