Ridgefield — The school district board proclaimed Sept. 25 Legendary Teacher Day, honoring the teachers who have impacted students’ — and everybody’s — lives. Facebook was the venue, as dozens of people from Ridgefield and beyond posted tributes to the teachers they loved best and why. A great example came from Assistant Superintendent Patsy Boles’ description of what her fourth grade teacher did for her: “I traveled the world, the jungles of the Africa, the southern swamps of America, the South Pacific and other parts unknown all through the books read aloud by my Grade 4 teacher, Miss Caloury. She captured my imagination … and challenged me to read books that made me think and stretch my reading abilities. My love of reading truly started … with Miss Caloury.” Read all the teacher tributes at www.facebook.com/RidgefieldSchools.
