MARYSVILLE — Marysville police are investigating the death of a toddler who was struck by an SUV that her father was backing out of a driveway Saturday morning.

Commander Robb Lamoureux said it appeared to be a tragic accident.

Officials were called to a home after a 2-year-old ran out of her residence and went behind the vehicle as it was backing out.

Officers started CPR on the child, who was in critical condition. Medics took over those efforts and drove her to the Arlington Airport for transport to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but she died on the way to the airport.
