Prairie High School music program picks up multiple awards

Brush Prairie — The Prairie High School Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band both took home awards from the WorldStrides Heritage Seattle Music Festival, held April 9-12. The jazz band won first place and the Best Overall Band award after receiving the highest score of the festival. The wind ensemble finished second, earning a gold rating and an invitation to a National Invitational Gold Rating Competition, which will take place in Chicago, Los Angeles or Orlando. The combined scores earned Prairie the Sweepstakes Best Overall Program award. Both bands are directed by Rudy Guidry.
