Investigators recovered more than $50,000 worth of stolen property in warrant searches Thursday and Friday, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The raids, which resulted from an ongoing investigation, began Thursday when the VPD’s East and West Neighborhood Response Teams served a search warrant on a storage unit at 505 S.E. Hearthwood Blvd.

A subsequent search warrant was served on Friday on a vehicle belonging to the suspect in the case, Dustin P. Medeiros, 30.

The search turned up numerous high-end bicycles (valued at several hundred to several thousand dollars), power tools, electronics, sporting goods, jewelry, firearms, musical instruments and hand tools, a VPD bulletin said.

There was so much property found, police said, that a truck had to be brought in to move it.

“Approximately $36,500 worth of stolen property has been identified and is in the process of being reunited with owners,” the bulletin said. “Another approximate $20,000 of property is still being researched in an attempt to locate victims.”

Police booked Medeiros into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of multiple charges, including possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of an unlawful firearm. He was also held on suspicion of numerous drug charges, including possession with intent to deliver.
