Longtime PeaceHealth volunteer retires

North Garrison Heights — After 27 years as a volunteer at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Mae Boynton, 90, retired on April 24.

In her time with PeaceHealth, Boynton has volunteered more than 12,900 hours. Before volunteering, she worked at a Virginia shipyard during World War II, Sears and a phone company.

“I have enjoyed every minute here,” she said in a release from the center. “It’s so wonderful to meet people every day and help them.”
