An autopsy has confirmed that a Vancouver pilot was the victim of an April crash on an Oregon hillside.

Lee Cheshire Leslie III’s identity was confirmed by dental records, according to a news release from the Linn County, Ore., sheriff’s office.

Leslie, 41, of Vancouver, was last seen leaving the Creswell, Ore., airport on the afternoon of April 22 en route to Vancouver’s Pearson Field.

After he was reported missing, the Civil Air Patrol mounted a search that ended when a man’s body and the remains of an aircraft were recovered on Mount Tom, east of Harrisburg, Ore.

Leslie was not listed as a licensed pilot on the Federal Aviation Administration’s online registry. His father, Lee Cheshire Leslie Jr., is listed on the registry and his grandfather, Lee Cheshire Leslie, who died in 2000, was a registered pilot.
