TUALATIN, Ore. — A home in Tualatin was up in flames as about 50 firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze that had broken out near the back of the house.

The Oregonian reports that fire crews responded to the home early Monday morning to a report that a fire had started near an outdoor grill.

By the time firefighters arrived, two residents and the family dog had gotten out of the home safely, but the two-story home was fully engulfed in flames.

Additional resources including a water tender were dispatched to aid the firefighters. Officials say large amounts of water were used to extinguish the flames, which had caused major structural damage to the home.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
