WARRENTON, Ore. — Federal regulators have issued a draft environmental review saying an Oregon energy company that wants to export liquefied natural gas can mitigate most of the negative environmental impacts it would cause.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s review this week found the LNG terminal would increase ship traffic, up conflicts between ships in the navigation channel, and inconvenience fishermen. But the review says those problems can be avoided through proper coordination, or are minimal.
The review estimates terminal construction over four years would generate more than 9,500 jobs.
