Letter: Progressive ‘thinking’ worshipped

The Columbian
Published: August 17, 2015, 5:00pm

When Napoleon observed there is no place in a fanatic’s mind where reason can enter, he not only described himself but later utopian schemers, including the so-called progressive. It’s almost impossible to wean people from evil who carry a placard saying a lion can somehow be murdered while on side B cheers Planned Parenthood, which allegedly harvests human beings for power and profit, and in that order.

Progressivism is the latest recycled moniker to describe pseudo religion, which is the worship of political power. It is a fatal conceit. Broadly, it is anti-Christian socialism with particular emphasis on the former. Among other disasters, this is the worldview that waved goodbye to the people in the boxcars headed east into Poland and winked at the Gulag Archipelago.
