LAKE STEVENS — Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is known for challenges in the kitchen, but he was in Lake Stevens for a different kind of competition.

The Daily Herald of Everett reports that Ramsay competed in the Lake Stevens Ironman 70.3 Sunday, finishing the race in five hours, 50 minutes and 31 seconds.

The Lake Stevens competition is a half Ironman, consisting of a 1.2-mile swim followed by a 56-mile bicycle ride and finished with a 13.1-mile run. Ramsay finished No. 331, in the top third of racers.

Ramsay is internationally known for a string of acclaimed restaurants, popular cookbooks and television shows including “Hell’s Kitchen” and “The F Word.”

While in Snohomish County he revisited Prohibition Gastropub in Everett, a restaurant he helped revamp in a 2013 episode of “Kitchen Nightmares.”
