Symphony receives $25,000 grant

Esther Short — The Community Foundation of Southwest Washington awarded a $25,000 grant to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra’s educational outreach program is provided through an enrichment grant from the Waldon M. Groves Fund, a charitable fund at foundation. “Every day, we continue to spread the word about the quality of our performances and try to impact the lives of people in Southwest Washington,” said David Smith, chairman of the orchestra’s board in a release from the foundation. “A big part of our mission has been educating students to the beauty and importance of music our lives.”
