Girls basketball: W.F. West 71, Woodland 41

Shasta Lofgren had 18 of her game-high 27 points as W.F. West beat the Beavers at their own game.

“We thought we were an up-temp team until we played them,” Woodland coach Glen Flanagan said. They are more of an up-tempo team. … We tried to dictate the tempo, but they liked it more than we did.”

The Bearcats forced Woodland into 11 first-half turnovers while building a 38-14 halftime lead.

Jessica Flanagan paced Woodland with 12 points and Dana Glovick added 11.
