1. Post-holiday time warp
Nothing like a little taste of Halloween after Christmas, with the Denton Delinquents performing a live shadow-cast of the cult movie “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Part sing-a-long, part interactive show, the audience can purchase available prop bags to create zany scenes from this ode to classic monster and horror movies. It’s an all-ages show, but the movie is rated R, so parental discretion is advised. The film begins at 10 p.m. Dec. 26 at the Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St., Vancouver. 2. Last look at lights
Get one last lap through Winter Wonderland before the annual light show closes. Spectators will drive through Portland International Raceway past dozens of displays set up along the 2-mile track. Event proceeds benefit the Sunshine Division. The show is open 5 to 11 p.m. Dec. 25-26 and 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 27 at the raceway, 1940 N. Victory Blvd., Portland. Admission is $20 for cars, $22 for passenger vans, $25 for limos and recreational vehicles and $30 to $45 for buses. And because of the flooding earlier in December, the annual Bike the Lights Night was moved to Dec. 28. Families can tour the lights on a bicycle from 5 to 9 p.m., with the track only open to bicycles. Admission is $6 per person, free for ages 13 and younger. 3. “Noon Year’s Eve” celebrations at local libraries
Not interested in staying up till midnight to welcome in 2016? Three of the community libraries will be throwing Noon Year’s Eve parties for families starting at 11 a.m. Dec. 31. Children can take part in crafts, enjoy music, learn about New Year’s traditions from around the world and count down to noon. 4. Philharmonic presents ‘Concert at Christmas’
Portland Youth Philharmonic presents its annual “Concert at Christmas,” featuring all 300 young musicians of the philharmonic, plus an orchestra of almost 100 alumni spanning the organization’s 92 years. The concert features pieces such as “Water Music” by George Frideric Handel, “In Time for the Christmas Tree” by Ryan Kim,and familiar works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
