Denis Kirichenko scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half as Union held off the undefeated team from Kentucky in overtime at the San Diego Surf ‘N Slam Tournament.
Union was down 10 points in the first half.
Keithen Shepard made a 3-pointer to tie the game with 2 minutes to play in regulation, and Nico Bricker converted a 3-point play with 10 seconds to play in overtime to seal the win.
Bricker finished with 15 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
Union advances to play Granite Bay (Calif.) in the semifinals of the Surf Division at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
