OLYMPIA — The state Department of Natural Resources has updated three public lands maps, covering areas around Mount Adams, Mount Baker and Chewelah.

The full-color maps cover an area of about 1,600 square miles. One inch on the map equals about 1.6 miles. The maps feature shaded relief to indicate terrain and are 26-inches-by-37-inches. They show highways, roads, trails, water features, wildlife areas and other key features, including lands managed by state, federal and local government agencies.

The maps cost $9 each, plus sales tax.

The maps can be purchased between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from the Washington State Department of Printing, 7850 New Market St., SW, Tumwater, 98501, or online at www.dnr.wa.gov/BusinessPermits/Topics/Maps/Pages/public_lands_quadrangle_maps.aspx.
