A Las Vegas woman was arrested during a traffic stop Friday afternoon after police found heroin inside the car she was driving in the North Image neighborhood.

Around 1:30 p.m., detectives with the Clark-Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop in the 5700 block of Northeast 135th Avenue as part of a drug trafficking investigation, and recovered a kilo of heroin and more than $20,000 cash, said Sgt. Fred Neiman.

Maria G. Marquez-Olivola, 32, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver. An 18-month-old sleeping in the backseat of the vehicle without a proper safety restraint was taken into protective custody, Neiman said.
