CHENEY — DaShaun Wiggins scored 14 points to lead four Portland State players in double figures and the Vikings surprised Eastern Washington 68-66 on Saturday.

The Eagles closed to within two points four times after losing the lead with 12:37 to go, the final time on Parker Kelley’s put-back with two seconds left. But after PSU missed a free throw, the Eagles were short with a full-court heave.

The Vikings (12-11, 6-7 Big Sky) rallied in the second half with a 12-0 run, including six points from Wiggins, to lead 44-38.

EWU (19-6, 10-2) had its six-game win streak snapped and lost its first home game this season after 12 victories.

Tyler Harvey, the nation’s leading scorer, returned after sitting out three games with an injury and led EWU with 22 points, but was just 2 of 12 from 3-point range. EWU’s second-leading scorer, Venky Jois, sat with an ankle sprain.
