YAKIMA — The father of female basketball player has been arrested after Yakima County sheriff’s investigated threats posted on social media against a basketball coach at another high school.

The Yakima County Sheriff’s office said Wednesday that the 38-year-old man was booked into Yakima County Jail on suspicion of felony harassment. His name has not been released.

Deputies began investigating after they were alerted to Facebook posts threatening harm against the coach of a girls’ basketball team.

Authorities say the threats apparently were made after the coach complained of aggressive behavior by the poster’s daughter during basketball games.
