Northern Arizona beats Eastern Washington 73-69

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Aaseem Dixon scored 23, and Kris Yanku had 19 points and eight assists to help Northern Arizona beat Eastern Washington 73-69 on Saturday.

Ako Kaluna added 14 points for Northern Arizona (15-12, 10-4 Big Sky), which has won three games in a row and seven of its last eight.

Back-to-back layups by Venky Jois gave Eastern Washington (20-7, 11-3) a 69-68 lead with 3:15 to play, but the Eagles missed their last five shots and Yanku made a pair of free throws about a minute later to give Northern Arizona the lead for good.

The game featured 17 lead changes and 11 ties.

Tyler Harvey led Eastern Washington, which shot 38 percent overall and made just 8 of 32 from 3-point range, with 22 points. Bogdan Bliznyuk added 16 and Jois scored 15.

Northern Arizona made 9 of 18 from beyond the arc and 20 of 22 free throws.
