KENNEWICK — A Grandview man has been sentenced to a year in jail for killing two of his friends in a 2013 car crash.

Jovannie Razo was sentenced Monday in Benton County Superior Court. He pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicle homicide in September.

The Tri-City Herald said Razo was driving with two classmates when the car left the roadway and hit some trees north of Grandview.

The crash killed Carlos Ochoa and Kevin Lopez-Gonzales, both 16. Razo was seriously injured. All three were students at Grandview High School at the time.

Razo said in court documents that he was innocent but pleaded guilty because of the plea bargain offered to him.
