WALLA WALLA — Prison officials say an inmate at the state Penitentiary at Walla Walla died Monday, an apparent suicide.
Spokeswoman Shari Hall says the man was alone in his cell when he was found unresponsive by the staff. He was declared dead about 45 minutes later.
The Tri-City Herald reports Walla Walla police are helping investigate the death.
