SEATTLE — The Washington State Patrol says a person who jumped off an overpass was struck and killed on Interstate 5 in north Seattle.

Police say several cars were then involved in a collision just before 6 a.m. Friday near Northgate mall.

The collisions and investigation blocked the northbound lanes and also restricted the southbound traffic heading into Seattle in the morning rush hour.

Officers were working to reopen lanes around 8 a.m.
