SEATTLE — Former major league utility player Pat Listach is going to be the new manager of the Seattle Mariners Triple-A affiliate in Tacoma.
The Mariners announced their minor league coaching assignments on Monday. Listach was the third base coach for the Houston Astros last season and has experience on the major league coaching staffs in Washington and with the Chicago Cubs. Listach has also worked as a minor league coach for the Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Listach spent six seasons in the majors with Milwaukee and Houston. He appeared in 499 career games.
Listach will be joined on the coaching staff in Tacoma by pitching coach Jaime Navarro and hitting coach Cory Snyder.
