Letter: Jump in budget exorbitant

The Columbian
Published: January 20, 2015, 4:00pm

Kudos to Garry Lucas for his long service to Clark County as sheriff. Now that he is retired, perhaps he will take a few minutes to explain how his office budget has grown, using an annual average inflation rate of 12.8 percent, from a cost of $3.10 per person in 1968 to $228.67 now.

Have we been that bad?
