Clark County is looking for applicants to fill an open seat on the Clark County Board of Equalization.

The seat was left vacant by the death of board member Patrick White. The position would be for a term beginning immediately and continuing through July 2018, according to the county.

The equalization board provides an impartial citizen forum where property owners can resolve issues of assessed valuation and exemptions, according to the county. Board members are paid $75 per day while attending meetings, which are usually scheduled during business hours Tuesday through Thursday as needed.

Applicants can submit a letter of interest and résumé by mail to Jennifer Clark, Board of County Councilors, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666, or by email to jennifer.clark@clark.wa.gov. Applicants should have knowledge of property, Clark County, appraisal techniques and property tax law, according to the county. The application deadline is 5 p.m. Feb. 19.
