PASCO, Wash. (AP) — Pasco officials are trying to get more people out to the park and hope vanity and luck will get them there.

The Tri-City Herald reports that all summer the parks department is promoting “Selfies in the Park.” Each month from May through August the parks department shares an image of something in one of Pasco’s parks. If someone finds the landmark, this month’s is a well, they’re encouraged to snap a selfie and send it in to be entered into a drawing.

The grand prize is a basket of goodies from the Pasco Farmers Market and a $25 gift card to the market.

Pasco Parks and Recreation advisory board member Craig Howell says the program gets participants out of their routine and into parks they wouldn’t otherwise visit.
