Vancouver — Maintenance work on the Interstate 5 Bridge will cause intermittent closures on the northbound span early Saturday morning, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Crews plan to grease some of the cables that help raise the span during a bridge lift. The northbound bridge will periodically be lifted during the work, which will cause closures of no more than 20 minutes each, according to ODOT.

The closures will take place between 5 and 8 a.m. Saturday, according to ODOT. Southbound I-5 will not be affected.

Vehicles traveling north from Portland to Vancouver during the work can use Interstate 205 as a detour. Additional maintenance work on the I-5 Bridge will take place later this summer.
