Magnitude 4.2 quake rattles inland Southern California

FONTANA, Calif. — A magnitude 4.2 earthquake rattled inland Southern California but there were no reports of damage or injury.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at 5:54 a.m. Saturday in Fontana and was felt across Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange and Los Angeles counties.

It was followed by two small aftershocks.

The epicenter was about 50 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
