PORTLAND — Federal officials say a University of Oregon graduate student falsified data in four published paper on brain science.

KOPB-FM reports that the Office of Research Integrity at the Department of Health and Human Services found false information in papers published from 2011 to 2013. They are calling for the papers to be retracted or corrected.

The papers were published in four major periodicals, including the Journal of Neuroscience. The work depended on funding from the National Institute of Health and Institute of Mental Health.

A University of Oregon spokesman says the student is not enrolled this summer and that their supervisor has left the university.
