Alaska Airlines plans direct service linking PDX to Austin, Texas

Alaska Airlines said Monday that it will launch direct service between Portland and Austin, Texas beginning Nov. 5.

The Portland-Austin service will depart Portland daily at 9:50 a.m., arriving at 3:50 p.m.. The return flight will leave Austin at 4:35 p.m. and arrive in Portland at 6:55 p.m. The flights will be operated for Alaska by SkyWest Airlines.

The Seattle-based airline also said it would begin direct service between Eugene, Ore., and San Jose, Calif., on the same date though its sister carrier Horizon Air.

Tickets for both will be available at www.alaskaair.com beginning June 9.
