New seasons of ‘Rectify,’ ‘Hell on Wheels’ on tap

You have questions. I have some answers.

Is “Major Crimes” coming back on TNT?

New episodes begin June 8.

I just finished watching the latest seasons of “Rectify” and “Hell on Wheels” on Netflix. Both are really good shows. Any idea when we can expect their next seasons?

As I have said before, some shows people discover on Netflix have a life before going to the streaming service. SundanceTV carries “Rectify,” which will begin a run of new episodes on July 9. “Hell on Wheels” will be back for its fifth and final season on AMC on July 18; the 14 episodes in the season will be split into two seven-episode parts, one batch airing in 2015 and the other the following year.

We love the new show “Battle Creek.” Dean Winters is so funny. Where have we seen him before?

Although CBS has canceled the comedy-drama starring Winters and Josh Duhamel, questions keep coming in about it.

You may know Winters as Mayhem in Allstate commercials, as Dennis Duffy on “30 Rock,” as Ryan O’Reily on the HBO series “Oz,” as Johnny Gavin on “Rescue Me” or from “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” where he played detective Brian Cassidy.

When, I mentioned in a recent mailbag that “Battle Creek” — which I liked — was done, one reader hoped I “would have told where to write to bombard ‘the powers that be’ with notifications that many of us liked the show,” since shows are sometimes revived by viewer campaigns. While such campaigns fail more than they succeed, here’s some info:

You can write to CBS Audience Services, 524 W. 57th St., New York, NY 10019, or send an email to CBSaudienceENTcbs.com. You can call 212-975-3247 between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Eastern time Mondays through Fridays; outside of those hours, you can leave a message. If you want to write to the “Battle Creek” production company, that’s Woodridge Productions Inc., Manhattan Beach Studios; 1600 Rosecrans Ave., Building 2A, second floor, South Wing; Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

I enjoyed watching “Gracepoint” last season and was wondering if it will be back and when.

The American version of the British series “Broadchurch” was not a success, so there will not be another “Gracepoint.” However, if you missed “Broadchurch,” it has run for two seasons on BBC America and a third season is in the works. The first two seasons are available on DVD and as a digital download; the first season is on Netflix.

I still don’t know how “Secrets and Lies” ended. The story ended in a way that didn’t make much sense. Is the series over or is there going to be a continuation? I enjoyed the series, up until the end.

In case you have not seen the first-season finale or read the full recap (both of which are on ABC.com), spoilers follow.

Briefly: Ben falsely confesses to the murder to protect the real killer, his daughter, Abby. Ben’s wife, Christy, and Abby go on the run, while daughter Natalie refuses to leave. Cornell, not believing Ben, vows to bring Abby — who is a remorseless little creature — to justice. In an ABC.com “Cornell: Confidential” segment taking place 14 months later, Cornell goes to Natalie on her 18th birthday and persuades her to testify against Abby and help clear Ben. Cornell then finds Christy and Abby.

A second season of “Secrets and Lies” has been ordered, but it will focus on a new case for Cornell.
