SEATTLE — The University of Washington says it has received a gift of $10 million from Microsoft Corp. toward building a new computer science and engineering building.
The university says the new building would help reduce the number of students turned away from studying computer science because there isn’t enough room for them.
The gift was announced Friday by Microsoft General Counsel and Executive Vice President Brad Smith.
The university says it needs $110 million to build a second computer science building. The new structure is expected to be 130,000 square feet.
