Two of three people suspected of robbing a man of his backpack were arrested Thursday evening in Battle Ground.

The physical disturbance was reported by residents in the 500 block of Southwest 12th Street at about 6:45 p.m., according to Battle Ground Police Department.

Officers arrived and found a 24-year-old man who said he’d been approached by three suspects, all of whom he didn’t know, who tried to take his backpack as the he was walking to his car, Battle Ground police said.

The man suffered minor injuries consistent with an assault though he was not taken to the hospital, police said.

Multiple officers responded and located two suspects: Brandon Osorio, 18, of Vancouver and a juvenile male whose name was not released.

Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

Police continue to search for the third suspect, described as an 18-year-old man with medium dark complexion, black Afro hair, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.

Anyone with information about the incident or with information about the suspect at-large is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Aaron Kanooth by calling 360-342-5254 or via email, aaron.kanooth@cityofbg.org.
