Clark Public Utilities commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to approve an annual salary of $263,000 for the utility’s general manager, Wayne Nelson. That’s up 3 percent from his current salary of $255,000. The salary increase, effective July 1, came during the board’s regular public meeting.

To establish a salary, commissioners use multiple surveys of executive salaries at comparable utilities in the region and nation, the utility said. Nelson’s adjusted salary remains below the salary range midpoint for his position.

Commissioners also approved transferring 100 hours of Nelson’s accumulated sick leave to annual leave. His car allowance, $400 per month, is unchanged.
