Celebrate 10 years of rusty masterpieces, creative reuse and recycled wonders during the Recycled Arts Festival. The popular festival has commissioned a Tin Man sculpture, made of recycled materials, for its anniversary, and needs the public to help vote on his heart, designed by local artists. All the hearts will be given to the American Heart Association after the festival. Stroll through the sculpture garden, take in music on the main stage and discover a piece of artwork from the hundreds of artists. The festival runs 9 a.m. to 6 today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Esther Short Park, 301 W. Eighth St., Vancouver. www.recycledartsfestival.com

Heroes Night, held to honor local police, fire fighters, EMTs, activity military members, veterans and medical professionals, will take place 6:30 to 9 p.m. tonight at East Vancouver Costco, 19610 S.E. First St., Camas. The community event features a scavenger hunt, police car and fire truck displays and demonstrations, with event donations going toward veterans and military families in need. 360-258-6239.

La Center’s Saturdays in the Park concert series kicks off today at 6 p.m. with the The SlimJims. The country and rockabilly band will perform at Sternwheeler Park, 100 E. Fourth St., La Center. Gearing up for Fourth of July, the annual Felida Children’s Parade is a great event for families. Held in Felida Park, from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 4, the parade is open to all, with participants encouraged to bring lunch and wear patriotic costumes. Following the parade, there will be music by the Vancouver Community Concert Band, picnic games, community displays and refreshments in the Felida Community Park, Northwest 122nd and 127th streets, Vancouver. The annual Ridgefield 4th of July Celebration is best known for its big parade, which will kick off at 11 a.m. Attendees can also sign up for the Independence Fun Run, take part in the pie eating contest and dancing in the park with High Fidelity Entertainment at 6 p.m. The fireworks show begins at 10 p.m. in downtown Ridgefield, Pioneer Street and Main Avenue, Ridgefield. Summer in Clark County often means relaxing on a picnic blanket as music plays while the sun sets. 5 Guys Named Moe set the stage for the start of Concerts for a Cause, the annual concert series that takes place at Camas Meadows golf course, 4105 N.W. Camas Meadows Drive, Camas. 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 7. The 11-piece band will perform from 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 7, with $5 suggested donation benefiting the Mount St. Helens Institute. The ever-popular Six to Sunset Concert Series kicks off next week from 6 to 8 p.m. July 9. Grab a blanket and some friends for a performance by Hit Machine, a five piece band that recreates favorite retro hits, at Esther Short Park, 605 W. Esther St., Vancouver. The concert are free. Friday Night Movies in the Park returns July 10 with a family-friendly movie in a different local park each Friday, through Aug. 14. There are pre-movie activities before each film. Washougal will be hosting a new fundraising event for CDM Caregiving Services. Weird Beer on the River is a tasting event that challenges beer and ciders makers to create their oddest brew. Expect some strange concoctions from breweries big and small, along with live music and food vendors, July 10 and 11 at Marina Park, 24 South A St., Washougal. The 10th annual Camas Car Show will line the streets of downtown Camas with hundreds of classic, custom cars, rod rods and trucks along the streets of downtown Camas. There will be live music, food, Best in Show awards and People’s Choice.
