Clark County is seeking applicants to fill a position on the Columbia River Gorge Commission for a four-year term that starts in July.
The bistate commission includes appointees from each of the six Gorge counties and both states’ governors. Clark County’s position is now held by Vancouver resident Damon Webster, whose term expires this year. Webster can re-apply.
Applicants must live in Clark County and should have some familiarity with the Gorge management plan and land-use planning, according to the county. The term lasts from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2019.
The commission oversees land use and policy within the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. The group meets monthly at various locations around the Gorge, and schedules special meetings as needed.
