WOODLAND — The Holland America Bulb Farm is seeing reds, pinks and purples. Because of a wave of spring-like weather, the tulips have begun to bloom earlier than expected.

The home of the Woodland Tulip Festival will open up its U-pick fields and showcase gardens starting March 13. Visitors can pick flowers for 50 cents a tulip or walk through the showcase fields at no cost.

The Holland America Bulb Farm, 1066, S. Pekin Road, Woodland, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Woodland Tulip Festival is still scheduled for the weekends of April 11-12 and April 18-19, while the Tulip Trot 5K will take place April 4. For more information, visit www.woodlandtulipshabf.com.
