Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities of Southwest Washington seeks participants for its next ombudsman training series, May 11-14. Attendance at all sessions is required for certification.

Clark County Food Bank seeks volunteers to work with nutrition education, farm and garden, as drivers or riders, repacking food, maintenance and cleaning, clerical and reception, and with special events.

Council for the Homeless is looking for referral specialists to receive and record calls from people needing shelter. Volunteers are also needed to greet guests at the shelter, prepare and serve food and perform safety checks.

Evergreen Habitat for Humanity is looking for a marketing and communication intern to work with social media, update Facebook, write and manage a monthly electronic newsletter, draft news releases, update the website, organize and attend monthly meetings.

Salvation Army seeks volunteers in the after-school Say Klub program, Tuesday through Friday: assist with projects and homework, provide literacy tutoring, and help with fun activities and crafts.

Evergreen School District Foundation seeks volunteers for its fundraising gala on March 28. Greet and check in participants, help with sponsorship, games, a silent auction, or on a dessert dash team.

The Clark County Board of Health seeks to fill a position on the Mosquito Control Board for a term that starts immediately and continues through 2016. Applicants must live in District 2, which includes east Clark County and the cities of Vancouver, Battle Ground, Camas and Washougal. Clark County councilors seek to fill a vacancy on the city/county Telecommunications Commission for a term that begins immediately and ends March 31, 2017. The volunteer commission advises the commissioners and Vancouver City Council on cable TV and other telecommunications issues. The group also serves as an advisory body in franchise renewal negotiations with Comcast. Meetings are at 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays each quarter at Vancouver City Hall.
