VERLOT — A Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman says crews have rescued a female climber who was stuck at the 4,000-foot level of a peak in the eastern part of the county.

Spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Wednesday that a member of the helicopter crew reached the 41-year-old Ellensburg woman and helped her climb down with her two dogs around midnight.

She had been stuck at Headlee Pass near Vesper Peak.

A search effort was launched after two other climbers in the area earlier Tuesday heard a woman call for help and alerted authorities.

A crew member was injured when a large boulder came loose and struck him. His injuries are minor.
