Letter: Sowell’s critical thinking is lacking

Yes, sometimes I just disagree with columnist Thomas Sowell, but other times it’s clear that his critical-thinking ability is just nonexistent. For instance, in his latest column on March 3, “Random thoughts, from extremists to Rubio’s readiness,” he praises people (particularly Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker) for succeeding without having much education. Later in the column, he criticizes President Obama for not having enough government experience to be president.

A little deeper thought on Sowell’s part might smooth out this inconsistency, but he does not seem capable of it.
