PORTLAND — Portland police say their drug investigators have wrapped up a three-month probe of a drug-trafficking organization in the metropolitan area with the seizure of nearly 14 pounds of heroin with a wholesale value of $650,000.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says investigators last week watched the occupants of two vehicles meet up in Vancouver, Washington, carry items into a garage and later leave, headed in different directions. With the help of Vancouver police, investigators stopped both vehicles, seizing the heroin from the frame rails of one and seizing $90,000 from the other.

Four people were detained and two were eventually arrested for investigation of drug-related offenses.
