A VESPER SERVICE will be offered at 7 p.m. at St. Luke’s-San Lucas Episcopal Church, 426 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver. The St. Luke’s Choir will be joined by the Bach Choir from St. James Lutheran Church in Portland. There also will be a professional orchestra. The role of the evangelist and other people involved in the Passion story will be in English. All the chorales and most of the choruses and arias will be in German and presented in two parts, with a homily between, given by guest Dennis Anderson, pastor from St. James.
