Representatives from Washington Youth Academy will host information sessions Monday at high schools in Vancouver and Camas.

Washington Youth Academy in Bremerton, part of the National Guard Youth Challenge program, provides a disciplined, safe and professional learning environment that empowers at-risk youth to improve their educational level and employment potential and become responsible citizens.

It is a state-run residential and post-residential program for youth from 16 to 18 who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of not graduating on time due to credit deficiency or other factors. The program is free to Washington residents.

Students who graduate from the 22-week residential program typically earn six to eight credits toward their high school diploma. The rigorous program focuses on academic excellence, citizenship, leadership, job skills, life coping skills, community, physical fitness and more.

Information sessions on March 30 are:

• Hudson’s Bay High School, 10 a.m.

• Mountain View High School, 11:45 a.m.

• Columbia River High School, 1 p.m.

• Camas High School, 2:30 p.m.
