A Vancouver woman was injured in a crash on the Interstate 5 Bridge that snarled southbound freeway traffic Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 2:03 p.m. in the freeway’s left lane when Ana D. Ortega, 24, of Vancouver braked her 2015 Ford Focus for traffic and was struck from the rear by a 2006 Honda Civic driven by Nicole F. McCormack, 29, of Olympia, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.

Ortega was injured in the crash. The WSP said she was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center; she was not included on the hospital’s patient list Saturday evening.

McCormack was not injured. She was cited by the WSP for following too close, the bulletin said.
